Lunch is optional – we have provisionally reserved a table at Tavala Calda, 2/4 Rue Dornaldeguy, just a few metres from «Grand Hotel» on the seafront.
Being north of the Pyrenees, and with a large group, lunchtime will be earlier than usual, at 12:30 sharp.

+INFO: One hundred years ago, on 2nd February, 1922, James Joyce’s Ulysses was first published by Sylvia Beach in a small bookshop in Paris. The book, which consumed 7 years of Joyce’s life, years in which his family’s circumstances were very difficult, would have a profound impact on the literature and culture of the century to follow. No twentieth-century novel has rivaled Ulysses in its reach.
The Irish-Basque Association LagunCara will screen the film, and invite discussion to launch our preparations for Bloomsday 2024 in June.

This is a moment to highlight women’s creativity, and we are honoured to have some Irish women based in Bilbao to explain the story of St. Brigid and the St. Brigid’s cross. We are also fortunate to welcome some prominent figures living in Bilbao to speak about their personal and professional experiences.
Afterwards, we will move to The Wicklow arms Irish Bar, just across the square, to continue the celebration.

This year, LagunCara proposes to celebrate Bloomsday two days later: on Sunday 18th June in Pamplona-Iruñea. Taking the opportunity to integrate the local bovine culture, this stroll through 1904 Dublin will highlight the symbols of the Festival of San Fermín that so distinguish the Capital of Navarra: an odyssey with Bulls, Cows, Fertility, Maternity, Creativity, Art, etc.
We will set off from Café Iruña at 11:30am and will finish with a lunch at 3pm in Restaurant Casa Paco.
